Business Communication Skills
Unclear emails, meetings that end without decisions and conversations that damage working relationships cost organisations time and trust every day. This programme gives professionals practical tools to communicate clearly in writing and in person, listen and question well, speak with confidence on the spot, and handle difficult conversations with colleagues, managers and clients.
Most communication problems at work are not caused by a lack of language skills. They come from unclear purpose, messages written for the sender rather than the reader, assumptions that are never checked, and listening that is really waiting to speak. Hierarchy, cultural differences and remote work add further barriers: people hesitate to ask questions, disagreement is hidden, and messages are misread in chat and email. The result is rework, delays, conflict and missed opportunities.
This programme builds communication as a set of practical habits. It moves through five stages: understanding how communication works and where it breaks down; listening and questioning; speaking clearly and with confidence; writing for the reader; and managing difficult and cross-cultural conversations.
Built on recognised practice. The programme references widely used communication models and techniques, including the STAR structure for speaking on the spot, the Situation-Behaviour-Impact feedback model, levels of listening, open and probing questioning, appreciative inquiry, the Pyramid Principle for structuring messages and plain language writing principles. Participants practise each one on real workplace situations.
What this changes in practice. How participants open and structure a message; how they check understanding before acting; how they respond when asked to speak without preparation; how they write emails and short reports that get a decision; how they raise a concern or give feedback without damaging the relationship; and how they adapt their style to different audiences and cultures.
How it is delivered. Twenty hours across five sessions, with frequent short practice rounds and peer feedback. Participants work on their own real messages, emails and conversations, and build a personal communication plan across the programme.
In-house option. For organisations, the programme can be tailored to your own communication channels, templates and typical situations, such as client meetings, internal reporting or cross-department coordination, and delivered in English or Arabic.

Tactless messages damage relationships, stall decisions and weaken the credibility of capable professionals, especially when the topic is sensitive or the audience is senior. This programme gives professionals practical techniques to say difficult things clearly and respectfully, handle disagreement calmly, and build the trust that makes people listen and act.
Committees and meetings consume senior time, yet many end without clear decisions, owners or records that would stand up to review. This programme gives committee secretaries, coordinators and chairs the practical skills to plan meetings, manage discussion, record decisions accurately and follow actions through to completion.
Data, reports and presentations often fail to persuade because they give information without meaning. Audiences forget slides but remember stories. This programme gives professionals and managers a practical method to find, structure and tell business stories that explain complex ideas, win support for proposals and engage teams, clients and stakeholders.
