Marketing for Non-Profit Organisations
Non-profit organisations compete for the attention of donors, volunteers, partners and beneficiaries, often with small teams and tight budgets. This programme gives non-profit leaders and communication staff a practical way to build a clear brand, plan fundraising and awareness campaigns, engage supporters responsibly and show the impact that keeps them giving.
Many charities, foundations, endowments and social enterprises do valuable work that few people know about. Messages try to speak to everyone at once, campaigns depend on one annual appeal, donor data sits in spreadsheets, and reports describe activities instead of results. Supporters are asked to give but rarely told what changed, so they drift away. Commercial marketing methods are copied without adjusting them to the trust, ethics and governance that a non-profit must protect.
This programme adapts core marketing thinking to the non-profit context. It moves through five stages: clarifying the mission, audiences and brand; understanding supporters and beneficiaries; planning fundraising, awareness and behaviour change campaigns; managing supporter relationships across channels; and measuring and reporting impact.
Built on recognised practice. The programme references widely used non-profit practice, including theory of change and logic models for impact, the principles of social value measurement, social marketing for behaviour change, the UK Code of Fundraising Practice as a reference model for ethical fundraising, and data protection principles such as those in the EU General Data Protection Regulation and national laws in the region.
Decisions this programme improves. Which audiences to prioritise with limited resources; how to position the organisation among similar causes; which fundraising channels to invest in; how to balance donor recognition with dignity for beneficiaries; and what evidence of impact to share with donors, boards and partners.
How it is delivered. Twenty hours across five sessions, built around one running case: a non-profit that must raise awareness and funds for a new programme. Participants develop its positioning, supporter segments, a campaign plan, a stewardship journey and a short impact report.
In-house option. For organisations, the programme can be tailored to your own mission, donor base, regulatory environment and channels, including endowment, corporate social responsibility and volunteer programmes.

Sales and marketing budgets are often set by last year's figure plus a percentage, and forecasts are defended by opinion rather than evidence. This programme gives commercial and finance professionals practical methods to build sales forecasts, plan and allocate sales and marketing spend, model the return on commercial decisions and explain the numbers to senior management.
Exhibitions are expensive, yet many organisations book a stand, send whoever is available and return with a pile of business cards and no measurable result. This programme gives marketing, business development and events teams a practical method to decide which shows to attend, set measurable objectives, run an effective stand and convert contacts into business.
